Combined talent and resources will expand each firm’s long term care focus

DSI

CLEVELAND, OH; May 2, 2011 -- Perspectus Architecture and DSI Architects announced today that the two firms will merge their operations focused on long term care and healthcare specializations. The new partnership will offer comprehensive professional services in Northeast and Central Ohio specific to the long term care industry.

The principals founded their firms on the strong belief in service and design. As they share the same values, it was only natural to combine their expertise.

With offices in Cleveland and Columbus, Perspectus Architecture offers core services in high quality healthcare design, particularly for long term care and acute care facilities. Co-founded by principals Bill Ayars, AIA, ACHA, NCARB and Larry Fischer, AIA, ACHA, NCARB, Perspectus has been recognized nationally as an award-winning, well-managed business and service-oriented firm.

DSI Architects is a Columbus, Ohio-based design studio known as a national leader in life care building design. DSI has planned and designed more than 50 assisted living, independent living and nursing facilities across the United States. Regardless of the architectural style or geographic location, the firm’s success stems from the balance of operational efficiency, thoughtful plan organization, sense of scale and craftsmanship details. Dimitri Smirniotopoulos, AIA, NCARB, as President, has been an industry design leader for 25 years.

"Perspectus has been looking to grow its long term care client base, and DSI’s extensive portfolio brings us to the next level," says Mr. Fischer. "Dimitri is well respected in Central Ohio, and he knows the market inside and out. This professional merger will enhance our long term care credentials and commitment to excellent service."

The blending of talent within DSI and Perspectus strengthens and expands the range of services — providing strategic planning, code compliancy, facility and interior design and project implementation. The new practice will build upon a solid client list of industry leaders, such as Brookdale Senior Living, American Retirement Corporation, Kingston Healthcare Company, Elmwood Village Communities, Extendicare Healthcare Company, and RoseWood Village Communities.

Mr. Smirniotopoulos adds, "The merger provides DSI Architects with deeper resources and technical support, allowing me to focus more on planning and consulting for national clients. To Perspectus, the partnership provides an enhanced specialization in long term care strategic planning and design as well as an expanded presence for acute care clients in Central Ohio."
