As a part of the Veterans Administration facility master plan for the Wade Park campus, members of the design team sought to create a unique space suitable for worship for people of all faiths.

The project was given a prominent entry off of a new "Main Street" devised to link primary components of the facility together in a clear and logical manner. The chapel transitions from the more active public circulation artery through a compressed gathering space.

To create an uplifting gesture, wood panels slope upwards, and tall clerestory glazing with decorative glass allows natural light to filter into the Chapel.

Behind the raised chancel, a sculpted feature wall serves as both a contemplative element and a backdrop for ceremonies. Smaller, ancillary spaces were designed to allow privacy and personal reflection. Other programmatic components include facilities for Volunteer Services and Education.
