Bluffton, Indiana

Working directly with Greystone Communities of Dallas, Texas, the design team provided feasibility, master planning and project implementation services. The creative design solution integrates Residential, Hospitality and Healthcare Design into a seamless, unique 120,000 square foot community in Bluffton, Indiana.

The main building is separated into Independent Living and Healthcare, each with its own Entry, Lobby, Dining and Living Areas. The concept is to provide each resident with a comfortable neighborhood environment that will meet their needs as they age. Services will be provided for maintenance for the residents in independent housing, allowing them to enjoy their leisure time and participate in the community activities. As a resident ages and their ability to live alone diminishes, there are buildings within the community that will provide housing with personal-care assistance. There is also a facility to provide Skilled Nursing Care.

Jim Wallis was the Project Manager and Principal in Charge of this project while serving as principal of Wallis Architects. Perspectus Architecture renovated part of the assisted-living complex into a Memory Support Unit in 2005.
